My Summer Car Mods #7: Rally Spotlights

If you’re a massive fan of rallying like I am, you’ll adore this mod because it brings a bit of that rallying spirit to a game that’s not exactly motorsport-inspired. This mod adds extremely bright wide-beam spotlights as a mounted component for the Satsuma (which is effectively an old Mk1/Mk2 Ford Escort).

These spotlights work like any other car part, so they’re not fixed or built into the car model. You can unmount them, attach them back on, and even break them off in a crash. You will need to screw them on with bolts to prevent them from coming off.

You can turn these lights off by flicking the switch at the top of the roof, just above the rearview mirror, to ‘On’. They will wear out the battery if you leave them on, as they’ve been specifically developed to drain the battery slowly to make the game seem more realistic. If you’re a fan of covered-up spotlights, you can buy special shroud covers from Fleetari’s and mount them on.

If you’re decent with Photoshop and want to make this mod truly your own, you can use any of the provided templates to custom-color them or edit the texture inside the RallyLights folder. If you find your custom texture isn’t loading, restart the game and try again, as that usually solves the issue. The game loads textures on startup, so editing them while in-game won’t actually render the new textures.

Issues

• Make sure your new edited .resource file is in the _Data folder next to the assets files and that M-Source is spelled exactly correct (including .resource on the end).
• It’s common that the executable builder will give errors, that part isn’t necessary unless you want to release your mod to the public easily. Click ‘Save’ instead, save as sharedassetsX.assets, remove the original assets file and rename your saved assets file as the original was.

Что такое моды в игре My Summer Car?

My Summer Car – симулятор выживания, в котором игроку предстоит восстановить старую автомобильную модель 1960-х годов. Игра позволяет игроку взаимодействовать с различными симулированными объектами и проводить кастомизацию своего автомобиля. Оригинальная игра предлагает несколько видов автомобилей и компонентов, но модификации расширяют этот список и позволяют игроку добавлять новые элементы в игру.

Прежде чем приступить к обзору самих кодов, следует рассказать о том, как именно их нужно вводить. Здесь не работает стандартный для многих игр способ, когда достаточно просто открыть консоль по нажатию на “Ё” (или “тильда” в англоязычной раскладке). Придется действовать следующим образом:

1. Зайти в меню параметров игры по нажатию на клавишу Esc и выбрав соответствующий пункт в списке;
2. Перейти из параметров в командную консоль;
3. Ввести одну из нужных вам команд, после чего подтвердить ввод клавишей Enter;
4. Повторить при необходимости, если нужно использовать сразу несколько кодов.

В некоторых версиях игры консоль может быть недоступна по умолчанию. Тогда рекомендуем вам попробовать следующий способ – создать нового персонажа и указать вместо его фамилии “Rauhijoketti”. Это позволит включить режим отладки, разблокировав консоль разработчика. Если же вам жалко прогресса, которого вы уже добились, придется повозиться с редактированием сохранений. Чтобы внести изменения в фамилию уже имеющегося персонажа, следует воспользоваться MSCeditor. Актуальную его версию всегда можно найти на NexusMods или других сайтах для любителей читерить/модифицировать игры.

this mod adds all wheel drive (4×4) to every player drivable vehicle in the game for example gifu and satsuma even the jonnez has awd. it also increases every vehicles horsepower and torque slighly but not too much to make it more funi made this mod for me and my friends but it became kinda decent so i wanted to upload it

Обратите внимание! Вводить число нужно слитно с кодом – например, POOR1000, а не POOR 1000;

DRAG – мгновенная телепортация игрока в локацию аэродрома;

FARM – перемещение игрока в районе фермы;

HEMO – введите эту команду, если нужно как можно быстрее оказаться дома;

JAIL – мгновенный перенос в локацию “Тюрьма”;

KESA – мгновенная телепортация персонажа в район кинотеатра;

ENDI – ввод этого чита позволит сразу же перейти к концовке игры и просмотреть ее;

OCCL – включение/отключение рендеринга объектов, которые находятся вне поле зрения камеры (вполне возможно, это добавит обладателям слабых ПК немного производительности);

SHIT – код на полное заполнения бака Гифу;

ARVO – код на получение сельскохозяйственного комбайна Арво-Алготсон;

DATA – отладка автомобиля (практика показывает, что далеко не всегда эта консольная команда срабатывает правильно – примите это во внимание);

DATE – позволяет не теряя времени перейти к одному из семи дней  недели, просто введя консольную команду;

TIME – то же самое, что и в предыдущем случае, только теперь вы меняете время суток;

WEAR – если вам надоело, что детали вашего автомобиля постоянно изнашиваются, введите эту команду. Теперь они станут как новенькие;

KEKE – подключение God Mode, который дает неуязвимость транспорта к любому физическому воздействию;

WEAT – манипулируйте с помощью этой команды погодными условиями, вводя ее раз за разом до достижения нужного результата;

SOBE – ввод команды позволяет персонажу мгновенно протрезветь (шкала опьянения снизится до нуля)

Было бы неплохо иметь такой чит и в реальной жизни;

RBED – дает персонажу как следует отоспаться и восстановиться (новые версии игры могут не поддерживать эту команду);

PORO – Ферндейл станет более мощным (в некоторых версиях не поддерживается);

RCAR, RTRA и RVAN  – три консольные команды, которые позволяют быстро вернуть на домашнюю локацию некоторые виды транспорта. Сатсуму, трактор и фургон;

SEIV – код для сохранения игры в любом удобном для вас месте (может быть несовместим с более новыми версиями My Summer Car);

KEYS – позволяет нашему персонажу разжиться ключами от всего имеющегося в игре автопарка;

LEFA – код на мгновенную телепортацию в мастерскую Флитари;

MANS – введите этот код, если хотите мгновенно оказаться в особняке;

MOKK – код на телепортацию, перемещающий вас в локацию “Остров”;

MUMM – перемещение прямиком к дому Сиркки;

PASK – введите команду, если нужно быстро переместиться к очистным сооружениям;

SALE – быстрое перемещение в локацию магазинчик Теймо;

TANS – мгновенная телепортация к танцевальной площадке;

RALL – введя эту консольную команду, вы окажетесь на грунтовой дороге поблизости от дома Теймо (здесь ездят раллийные машины, за которыми можно понаблюдать);

COLL – чит, который влияет на включение/отключение дополнительных моделей столкновения с деревьями;

CLIP – команда позволяет вашему автомобилю не врезаться в препятствия, а свободно проходить через них. Повторный ввод отменяет эффект.

Model Editing

Extracting and importing models is quite complicated, this guide will reference using Blender but it’s fully compatible with 3DS, Maya, or any other software that can import and edit .obj files. There’s plenty of online resources if you’re new to model editing and want to learn.

General knowledge of 3D modeling is recommended. Including: How to set a UV Map, naming an object, editing nodes and Normalizing/Smoothing/Dissolving/Triangulating objects. If you only want to lightly edit an object and not create a new model, naming and general editing is all you really need.

Software use is UABE, Unity 5.4 (Unity Personal) and UAE — Knowledge of UAE is recommended.

Extracting the Model

You’ll need Unity Assets Bundle Extractor. Select File -> Open -> sharedassetsX.assets (X = 1, 2 or 3). From here a new window will open with a long list of all the assets, sorted by their type. The search function can be found under View -> Search by Name, your item must be spelled perfectly though so it’s recommended to use UAE to find the model, then copy the name into UABE’s search.

All models are Type: Mesh, select the item’s name and click ‘Plugins’ on the right, then ‘Export to .obj’. Save it anywhere outside of the games folder. Some in game items use multiple models to create an object (for example, wheels and tires are a separate mesh).

Editing the Model

Import your newly extracted .obj into your favorite editing software, for blender this is File -> Import -> Wavefront (.obj). Remember to delete that daft cube first though (you’ll see what I mean). Once your item is in, feel free to edit the object, here’s Blenders guide page if you’re stuck or new to Blender. You must create a UV map if you’re making a completely new model, make sure it’s the same resolution as the original models texture and saved as the originals name.

Using the smooth function will make sure your texture looks nice, remember to normalize all the nodes to avoid transparent textures (unless this is your aim). Unity uses triangular faces, so if you’re creating new faces as squares, use Blender’s triangulate function as it’ll do a better job than Unity turning squares into two triangles.

Once you’re happy with the new model, use File -> Export -> Wavefront (.obj) to save over the old model.

Importing the Model

This is the hardest part, it’s silly how long-winded the technique is. Brace yourself!

Create a new blank scene in Unity Personal, then go find the Assets folder for this new scene in Windows Explorer. Copy your new model .obj into this Assets folder, you will now see the model in Unity’s assets section, drag the model onto the scene. Click File -> Save Scene. And save it. The name and location do not matter. Now click File -> Build Settings. A new window will open, leave everything as it is and click ‘Build’. Save the .exe anywhere, the name doesn’t matter, the folder that opens up when complete will have your *SceneName*_Data folder inside. Inside that _Data folder will be your scene’s sharedassets0.assets file, just like My Summer Car has one.

My Summer Car Mods #6: Trailer Hitch System

This is a mod that supports another mod, so let me explain before I throw a load more information your way. The Trailer Hitch System mod adds hitches to the game’s cars so you can attach and tow trailers around.

This is a framework mod though, meaning it only adds the hitch and the mounting point for the trailer, not the trailer itself. If you actually want to tow trailers and carry stuff around, you’ll have to download individual trailer mods.

The great thing about this mod is that it supports other custom mods too. Remember that Tangerine FZ-120 Pickup mod I wrote about just a few paragraphs up? The Trailer Hitch System adds a trailer hitch for the pickup as well, despite it being an aftermarket community mod and not a default vanilla car.

It’s been viewed over 30,000 times on Nexus Mods and has had almost 10,000 unique downloads, making it one of the most popular My Summer Car Mods out there. When you’re done fixing up cars and racing, and just want to explore the game and the city boundaries some more, this is a great mod because it allows you to carry everything you need in the back.

My Summer Car Mods #1: Show Bolt Size V2

If you often find yourself mixing up bolt sizes or having to constantly double-check them, then this mod is perfect for you. It’s the most downloaded mod on Nexus Mods, and for good reason. It makes life so much easier and the game so much more enjoyable by taking out frustrating issues its developers should have thought of in the beginning.

If you’re not interested in seeing actual bolt sizes on the screen, you can custom-tune the mod to show only if the bolt is smaller or larger than the wrench, and indicate by how much. Once you use this mod, you’ll never be able to go back to the base vanilla game again. It is without a doubt one of the most useful My Summer Car mods available.

My Summer Car Mods #9: Fast Travel

It allows you to fast travel to known locations on foot. It’ll calculate stats gained while doing so based on the distance between your current position and the fast travel target you’ve selected (if you were to walk there on foot). You can’t choose a random position on the map as there are 12 preselected locations, but it works well enough as they’re scattered all across the place.

The only caveat is that you have to visit each of the 12 locations in order to unlock them, which I guess is fair enough. As with most mods covered in this article, you’ll need MSC Mod Loader. In case you still haven’t downloaded it, it’s the first mod on this list and I’ve linked to several different download locations up there.

My Summer Car Mods #8: Colorful Gauges

Words can’t express how much this mod improves the game, especially for night driving. Giving you the opportunity to completely customize each and every car gauge in the game, you can play around with this mod until you’re completely satisfied with the outcome or become bored of fine-tuning the values.

If you’re feeling race-y and want to go out for a spirited drive, choose a livelier color like red or orange, play some hype music, and enjoy yourself. What I often do is tweak the gauges to have this really nice and soft purple-pink color that reminds me of the late 80s and early 90s.

I then like to go out for a relaxing cruise and take in the surroundings. I’ll often boot up YouTube and play some chillwave/synthwave retro songs, and picture myself exploring an unknown city or area at night. It’s a great way to relax and unwind.

My Summer Car Mods #13: DonnerTechRacing ECU

You can read everything this mod adds on its page linked below, but let me just say I downloaded this mod when first booting up the game and I haven’t looked back since. I love having switchable ESP and TC, as it means I can be a bit of a hooligan when I want to and turn everything on when I’m just cruising.

You also get the added benefit of playing around with the fuel injection (different fuel maps) and even set up your very own LAUNCH CONTROL. That’s right, this mod comes with a launch control function, which works exactly like you might think it does. You can set up your RPMs and dump the clutch, taking off with maximum force each time.

It works best with AWD vehicles, though you can use it on almost anything. The reversing camera is a godsend too, especially for players who like to use the in-car camera for realism and aren’t fully confident in their reversing skills. Oh, this mod also comes with rain and light sensors.

If you had to get one mod from this entire article and one mod alone, you should definitely download DonnerTechRacing’s ECU mod, especially if you love to go fast. It provides over a dozen different functionalities all wrapped in one elegant package.
